…this blog and I

I began this blog in 2007, as part of my graduate studies in Information & Learning Technologies. Originally, the blog provided a place for reflection and responses to course discussions and readings. However as I progressed in the program, I grew to see the value of collecting a larger body of thoughts, practice and resources.

I believe the technologies of today (and tomorrow) offer us new methods of interacting and communicating. Leveraging the strengths of new mediums to enhance traditional learning environments and create new learning environments. While the tools used may change over time, I have found that many of the best practices in creating effective learning environments remain constant. The best learning environments keep the needs of the learners at the center of the design and learning process. Relevant and authentic learning activities, in alignment with learning objectives provide learners with the opportunity to make meaningful connections.

This is my personal blog.  Any opinions expressed here do not represent those of my current or former employers.
